About

We are all Creatives. Life is Show-and-Tell.

Hello, I'm Josie

She/They

I was born in 1973 Echo Park in the heart of Los Angeles. I moved to San Francisco right after college and still call this wildly wonderful city my home.

I have been a lifelong aspiring writer, though only more recently has my life shifted into gear as a published author. In 2022, I released my first book: a self-help guided journal utilizing Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, a mindfulness-based approach.

I am now in the midst of completing and releasing several literary works including two speculative fiction novels. My debut memoir, Adrift in Adulting, is out July 2024.

The purpose in all my writing is both aesthetic expression and consciousness expansion. I believe we are each contributers in our own way. I trust that readers who are meant to gain value from my words will find me.

My day job is working as a psychologist in a group private practice. I also enjoy singing and communing with nature. Underlying all of my endeavors is an endless yearning to understand the Universe. My connection to unity consciousness and the power of love are the driving forces which propel me.

Born to an artist mother and Filipino father with neurodiversity in the bloodlines of my family, from my youngest memories I have been attuned to the multiplicity of perspectives, levels of awareness and modes of conveyance.

I have learned to go my own way, and am heartened to live in a world where so many of my own identifiers have moved from fringe to greater inclusivity. I remain alert to regression into orthodoxy and dogma, even as I applaud the extension of acceptance into further diversity.
